Audi Q7 Custom Remap

Audi Q7 Custom Remap with EGR Valve delete

This 2007 Audi Q7, the S Line 3.0 Tdi Quattro model, booked in with ADE Tuning for the EGR Valve to be blanked and then a custom remap to suit.

The EGR valve (exhaust gas recirculation) works by recirculating a portion of an engine’s exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders. Since the EGR system recirculates a portion of exhaust gases, over time the valve can become clogged with carbon deposits that prevent it from working correctly. Clogged EGR valves can sometimes be cleaned but ADE Tuning can blank the valve off and reprogram the ECU. Replacement off the EGR valve can be expensive and there is no guarantee that the problem won’t happen again.

With the EGR blanked off on the Audi Q7 it was time for the custom remap. ADE Tuning’s rolling road is only 2wd but we luckily have access to a 4wd one. With the Q7 on the rolling road the custom remap was written to suit the EGR valve modification. As a standard vehicle the Audi Q7 will make around 230bhp, after the custom remap the car made 324bhp on the rolling road.

Fisher Fury Health Check on Rolling Road

Fisher Fury

After finishing his race season the owner of this Fisher Fury; fitted with a 1000CC Honda Fireblade engine, decided to run the car on the rolling road to check what power it was making. The owner Les Kirk had been competing in the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Championship throughout 2016, racing at many of the different tracks around the UK. Les finished third in his category in his Fisher Fury.

Wanting to check she was still making good power before winter storage, he booked in for a power run. With the car pushed onto the rolling road we strapped her down before making any power runs. If the engine made good power she would simply be treated to an oil change and filters. If she failed to make power the whole engine would be taken out for an overhaul.

As with all our power runs we want to do several consistent runs to show a true power reading. Thankfully this Fisher Fury didn’t fail to impress and made the expected power. So an oil and filter change instead of full engine rebuild before being tucked away into storage ready for next season 🙂
